The three founders of u²t worked together at Fraunhofer Institut Nachrichtentechnik Heinrich-Hertz-Institut (HHI) for more than ten years before they founded u²t as a spin-off company of HHI. u²t`s long-term R&D partnership with HHI ensures continuous innovation for the applications of the high-speed future.
BMBF
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung - BMBF) gives u²t financial support for its various research projects. The latest projects are called 100GET and NGOA.
European Commission
The European Commission gives u²t financial support for its various research projects. The latest project is FP7 project called MIRTHE.
OpTecBB
u²t is a member of Optical Technologies Berlin Brandenburg (OptecBB). OptecBB is a union of companies and scientific organisations in Berlin and Brandenburg. Their aim is to develop and use optical technologies as one team.

The Technologiestiftung Berlin gives u²t financial support for the research project "100 x 100".
